CAN'T MANAGE WHAT YOU CAN'T MEASURE
Wednesday June 4, 2025 9:15am - 10:00am CDT
In today's data-driven world, the adage "Can't manage what you can't measure" is particularly relevant to environmental sustainability. This discussion will explore the critical role of Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) in evaluating and managing the environmental impacts of vinyl products. An LCA is a comprehensive framework that assesses a product's environmental footprint from raw material extraction to end-of-life treatment. By offering a bottom-up scientific approach, LCAs provide detailed insights into a product's environmental performance, helping to identify hotspots and areas for improvement. This session will highlight the importance of rigorous and precise LCAs in providing actionable insights, particularly for vinyl manufacturers, and demonstrate how these assessments can drive sustainable practices, innovation, and enhanced environmental performance. The discussion will go beyond the basics of LCAs by focusing on important considerations during the development of LCAs and specifics of the hotspots.
