About me
I grew up on Long Island (NY) with my brother Alex in a suburban home surrounded by thousands of vinyl records belonging to our father, a fanatical audiophile and semi-professional recording engineer well known to classical musicians in and around New York City. (A few of whom went on to become Grammy winners and well-established commercial artists.) Alex, himself an aspiring rock musician, founded Digital Matrix back in the mid-90s as his "day job" and to provide precision electroplating equipment to the then burgeoning CD & DVD manufacturing industry. Soon he didn't have much time for playing clubs as his company was selling equipment in a dozen countries and to some of the world's biggest labels and tech giants. After developing and selling several of my own e-commerce and internet businesses, Alex invited me, in 2017, to help his company rebound from the decline in optical media demand and other global challenges of the 2000s that we are all aware of.
It turns out that while we were selling specialty plating systems to high-tech research labs making space telescopes and such, the "ancient" vinyl record business suddenly came on like a tidal wave. Now we are working not only with major corporate players, but new generations of independent platers and pressers around the world. We like to think our dad would get a big kick out of us coming full circle back to the world of music on vinyl. Talk to us about how our plating equipment and expertise can bring high-tech efficiency and reliability to your stamper production, the critical component to finished disk quality.
